Kanazawa-based Japanese artisan Yuki Osako is known for making functional works of art from glass. Her methods of frosting and cutting the glass make her works unique, not only beautiful on the eye but also to hold in the hand.
This particular vessel is a small glass sake cup where the glass has been faceted and coloured. Yuki has coloured the whole of this cup, but if you look closely the frosting fades from clear at the bottom to a darker colour at the top. This makes for a piece that’s visually appealing and certainly one of a kind.
